About Erika Demers, LMFT

Erika Demers, LMFT is a licensed marriage family therapist specializing in working with adults, teenagers and children.  She maintains a private practice in Arcata, CA.  With 16 years experience as a therapist in a variety of settings, she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients.  Erika Demers is also a mindfulness teacher and psychoeducational teacher for Coastal Grove Charter School and is a mother of two children.  

Among Erika's areas of expertise are listening, teaching mindfulness, somatic therapy, the creative therapeutic arts (has a specialization in expressive arts therapy) and focusing on clients' goals for healing and expansion to shift energy and increase happiness and fulfillment in life. Erika's therapeutic approach is eclectic and she provides caring support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.

Erika Demers, LMFT is an intuitive, interactive, and person-centered (humanistic) therapist. She works with each individual to help them build on their strengths, obtain inner wisdom and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Education M.A. in Psychology with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy at California Institute of Integral Studies.  Her M.A. program is a three year program. B.A. in Psychology at University of California at Santa Barbara
